Six years... 1,678 posts... Celebrate with me today by eating something decadent! Thanks for your support!

Five years old today

Peek is five years old today!  In blog years, that's about 71 or something.  I know I am going to celebrate with a drink or dessert... or both tonight.  You should too!

Four Years!

Four years and 1,120 posts ago, I began this humble blog to feature contemporary artists and their work.  To celebrate this day, I encourage everyone to have a FOUR DAY; go gallery hopping with three friends, challenge yourself to create four sketches today, spend four minutes doing nothing but deep breathing, eat four cupcakes (get help with this one).  Happy Birthday Peek!

SOPA Strike

Today, many major (and not so major) websites are protesting this bill by going dark.  Please join them in this protest by contacting your legislators using this site.  I contacted my representatives this morning.  Let's hope that a flood of Stop SOPA email will make them think twice before supporting this over-reaching legislation.

I can't believe it either.  One... Thousand... Posts!

Thanks to all the Peek fans out there and all those who have added Peek as a link to their sites.  Alright *stretches fingers* let's get to work on the next 1,000 posts.

Source Festival

For the past few months, I have been busy planning, brainstorming, and practicing with my Team 3 buddies in preparation for our Artistic Blind Date performances.  The ABDs are made up of 4 groups with 3 artists each who were 'set up" with the purpose of combining their multi-disciplinary talents (musicians, visual artists, choreographers, dancers, puppeteers, actors, video artists, musicians, etc.) to create a performance/experience/installation as part of the 2011 Source Festival in Washington D.C.  Along with these performances, the festival includes 3 full length plays and 18 ten minutes plays.

All of this happens next month!

For more information or to buy tickets, visit the Source festival page.  Check out the blog for sneak peeks at production and creative goings on.

You can become part of our show!  Visit the Adjusting the Volume page to help us select images for our performance.

Adjusting the Volume

Think you can pick a winner?  Visit the Image Selector and find out.

You, our audience, can use this online tool to select images that appeal to you most.  The resulting "winners" will be used in an Artistic Blind Date performance entitled Adjusting the Volume. Each selection you make will adjust the visual volume of our first act. This live show will be presented on various dates in June 2011 as part of the annual DC Source Festival.

Aid for Japan

I am sure that most of you know of these already but I wanted to share just in case you don't.  Here are are two ways you can help support the relief efforts in Japan.

Using your cell phone, simply text REDCROSS to 90999 and you'll make a $10 donation. You can also donate to the Red Cross at this page.

Check out Wall Space Gallery's life support Japan limited edition prints.  Each edition is limited to ten, they are only $50, and all proceeds will go to Direct Relief and Habitat for Humanity Japan.  The image below is by Diane Meyer.

On Good, you can find many ways to help. Check them out here.
